I have known JoAnn for many years and have admired her for her dedication and commitment to serve our island community.
Her ability to ask tough questions even in the face of opposition is admirable. Over her many years of public service, she has set a high standard of excellence for others to emulate and her focus has always been to improve and better our lives.
She is truly one of Kaua’i’s outstanding daughters. We need her leadership!

JoAnn has supported our community for as long as I can remember. As a Council member, she supported me in getting a new playground installed at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center. The old rubber-tire playing surface was becoming toxic and harmful for our children to play on.
JoAnn has over 26 years of experience in elected office. While she was our mayor, Hurricane ʻIniki struck Kauaʻi in 1992. I was inspired by the way she handled the disaster. Because of her diligence, I felt any necessary help for a given situation was always on the way.
Finally, she has always been a champion for the environment. I strongly endorse her candidacy for the Kauaʻi County Council.

As a young person going off to college, I support JoAnn Yukimura because she is always thinking about young people and the future that is being created for us on Kaua’i. For example, she recognizes the importance of the performing arts and gives time from her busy schedule to be on the board of KPAC (Kauai Performing Arts Center).
She also knows how important the Kauai Bus is to young people who can’t drive. I am confident that JoAnn Yukimura will work for a bright future for me and other young people.
